Ahhhhhh...

In spite of the fact that I am occasionally cold when outdoors, I really do like cold winters. Is anyone else out there enjoying their marriage bed in this freezing cold weather? There is nothing like having your house temp around 65-67 degrees at night (or colder, for you brave folks), stripping down to the buff, diving underneath the sheet, the blanket and your down comforter, and then snuggling up to your nude spouse for a bit before enjoying a sexual romp in the bed. Ahhhhh.... Now I ask you-- How can that NOT get you in the mood? ;-)

Sadly, I find I 'wilt' if the temperature isn't at least 74F. Though now in Texas, I think it's partly due to freezing my buns off for so many years 'up North'; and due to hypothyroidism. My wife would probably like it to be about 55F, so it's always a tug-of-war.

Hey, me too! (Well, me nude, my dw not so much--but still accessible :-)

And it is not just in the cold winter months either. When a storm is howling outside, and the rain is flying horizontally, or we lose electricity just before bedtime, there is nothing which can compare to finding warmth and emotional succor in the arms of my dw. Sometimes one thing leads to another, sometimes not. But snuggling like that always gives me a feeling of being “home.”

I totally agree with you Gemma and Ancient Mariner as well about rain storms. DW; doesn't sleep completely nude, she likes to have her shoulders covered in the winter. A couple years ago we bought one of the best investments in our marriage bed fro the winter time. It is a mattress pad heater that we turn on about an hour before bed time, it takes that initial shock off.

Totally agree, Gemma.

I am the family 'heating log'. They all get a kick out of putting their hands on me for warmth...I stay toasty during cold weather!

My man loves it when he can soak up my heat in bed at night. I love curling my body around his back, spoon fashion, as we fall asleep. He looks forward to this all day long.

When he feels 'inspired',he reciprocates with his own warmth in an entirely different way. Ohhhh yeeaaaahhhh. I get heated from the inside out ;-)

When we moved into this house, we slept in an unheated garage. It turned out to be very romantic in the winter, if you can imagine this: A fire in the wood stove to keep us warm; sheer curtains bunched up near the bottom of the garage door windows; bed near enough to the garage door so that when the wooden door is raised, the curtains billow romantically over the bed; snow gently falling outside; and DH and me snuggled in that king-sized bed.

It was about as rustic and romantic as you could get. And, hey, if you needed a wrench in the middle of the night, you never had to get out of bed! ;-)
